Top-Rated Toyota Minivan

59,000 miles, AWD Minivan, $16,500

2005 Toyota Sienna XLE LTD AWD with 59,000 miles.

This is an amazing van that has been the top rated AWD minivan every year since 2004.  The interior is completely tight and silent, and it has every conceivable option.  The seller was a single mother in the Berkshires who bought it new in 2004 for $39,000 or $40,000, and supplied all the original paperwork and service records.   Ari (testimonial coming) bought it for $16,500. The math works as follows:  The first owner burned through $23,000 plus interest in four years  ($5750/YEAR plus interest).  If the second owner drives the van for four years, he will use up about half as much equity, or about  $2875/year plus interest.  (That’s about $250/month to own a $40,000 Toyota).

Dr. Ron’s Own Car

32,000 mile Mazda, Extra Sporty, $12,000.

2002 MAZDA MPV ES (Extra Sporty).

Leather, Side air bags, fold flat rear seat, etc….
Where to begin …  I have two kids and all their carpooling friends,
but I love sporty cars (Zoom, Zoom), and love to buy them.

I bought this one in 2005
with 30,000 miles from a mother of two in New Jersey for only $12,000.
At the time a new 05 or 06 listed for $28,000.
Fast forward to late 2009.
The car now 80,000 miles and drives like new—tight and sporty.
It does have a few dents from my driveway,
and a whole compost pile full of snack food that my children have deposited in the back.
Boy am I glad I didn’t spend $28,000 on a new van just to fill it up with banana peels and Veggie Booty.
The difference ($16,000) will be probably be spent on my kids’ college tuition….  But that is another story.

Honda Minivan that Revolutionized the Segment

6 01 2009

Famous Honda motor, design, and engineering.

2000 Honda Odyssey EX, 52,000 miles, $8,500.

In 1999 Honda was the first car company to figure out
how to build a minivan with a fold flat rear seat.
Toyota and Dodge needed five more years to do the same thing.

LOW miles, Second owner, Fold Flat Rear.
Well maintained excellent condition non-smoker/pet-free vehicle.
(alloy rims are worn and scratched on surface.)

Estate Sale — Grandpa’s Minivan

6 01 2009

This Gramp was a WWII vet — ie an Octogenarian.

2004 Chevy Venture LS Extended Van. 35,000 grandpa miles. $7,000.

Karmic Coincidences:

Seller (executor): Hilton Kelly
Buyer: Pat Kelly.

Seller’s address:  Winslow Drive
Buyers mother’s maiden name: Winslow

Deceased:
WW-II vet who blacked out behind the van wheel in a nursing home parking lot.
Buyer’s Dad (and beloved family patriarch):
WW-II vet who pulled many similar stunts behind the wheel
and in and out of hospital parking lots.

This business is getting weird.

On a more serious note:
This is the second car that Pat bought through Dr. Ron. She is a repeat customer

because the $5900 Dodge Stratus with only 4,000 miles worked out so well over the past six years.

Driven by Senior Citizen on Long Island for 10 years. (No dirt roads).
Great car, clean, runs great. Well maintained with records.

Jonitha and Paul needed a cheap van to take kids camping.
When they went to inspect the car, they got underneath with a flashlight,
and couldn’t believe how clean it was.
Jonitha called Dr. Ron and said:
"Hi Ron, We went to look at the car; it’s sweet.
It’s definitely our car.  It’s just great. It is so clean,
I can’t believe it’s 11 years old.
I have never seen anything like it before.
Of course it has not lived on dirt roads, and that’s what I’m used to.

We are the proud owners of a sweet new car. It’s comfortable, quiet, big, roomy and luxurious.
Thank you so much for your help."
